Surprise Crochet

Nice surprise when the postie came today .. my new book "Surprise Crochet Sweaters for Baby" by Darla Sims arrived from the Bookdepository.
This is the crochet version of Elizabeth Zimmerman's knitted Baby Surprise Jacket. There are eight sweaters in the book, all based on the basic pattern but some with different necklines and edgings, one with a collar, one with a hood and another with longer sleeves. Of course you can mix and match the patterns. I'm going to try this one first

Hat number 24 was finished a few days ago

and today, I finished this child's poncho. Do you think it needs an edging of some kind on the bottom?

    I didn't know there was a crochet version of the BSJ - looks really cute.

    They are all beautiful, colourful and look like a lot of happy hours ahead in those projects..
    No I don't think your poncho needs any edging, beautifully crocheted..
    Is it made in one piece ??

    You seem to be having so much fun making little items for your grand kids,I love the little poncho it looks fairly easy to make and the colors are so cheerful.
    I wish my mom could have taught me how to crochet, but she's too old now and has to even use a Tracfone SVC especially for seniors needs with the bigger buttons and letters on the screen.
    I've just seen a stunning home decor idea that will inspire quite a few ladies. One lady took her grans little crocheted doilies, bleached them as they were in a paper bag and forgotten in a draw for years, and put them in white wooden square frames and put them above her bed. The bedroom wall is pale blue, her furniture in there is french country and the contrasting white lace doilies make the bedroom so feminine and really classy. I'm considering doing the same.
