Great Grannies

In my last post I told you about the Australiacrochet group's squares swap and showed you the two I sent to my partner. Well, now I can show you the two lovely squares I received from Jacqui. Everyone indicates their preferred colours and mine are dusty pink, crimson and cream - I think a throw in those colours will look good in my bedroom. The square on the left will probably be familiar to many of you - its the start of the Reversible Hungarian Rug (aka Wooleater) ..
The square on the right is a basket weave pattern that Jacqui learnt when she was in the USA recently. Its double thickness so will add extra warmth. Both lovely squares and a good start to my throw.

This afternoon I finished off a little newborn size dress - its from Bev's Country Cottage site and is called Angel Wings Dress. My model, Charlotte, is a size 0000 which I understand is what most newborn babies are these days. She is wearing it over the top of her jump suit and for the record, I used Carnival 5ply with a 3.75mm hook. This will be one for my charity donations.

Can I be cheeky and claim this as hat number 27?
I made this tiny hat after a plea from Clare of BobWilson123 on Facebook/YouTube. Clare's friend's daughter and her husband lost their precious little man, Halo Joseph Hope, 28/5/2011, at 20 weeks into the pregnancy. The nurses, before giving Halo to his mother had wrapped and put a little beanie on him but it was way too big for this very tiny babe. In memory of the son she lost, Laura, Halo's mother later decided to get a little group together to make beanies and blankets for other parents in this situation. Clare has put the call out for assistance and you can see her video here - she gives ideas, patterns and sizes for what it required.

Thanks for visiting and leaving nice comments. I've made some great cyber friends through this blogging and I love reading all your posts.
