Year of Projects - week 3

Its been a cold, wet and miserable week in my part of the world and I know lots of folk would say 'perfect weather for crochet or knitting'. Alas, not so as I've been really sick again (third bout) with this horrible bug that seems to be going around. Like a cold but nothing I have experienced before. Anyway, hopefully it is slowly starting to get a bit better so I might be a bit more productive this coming week.

I finished off this little Angel blanket for Angel Blankets Australia (NSW) which is one of the Knit4Charities projects for July. I used King Cole Baby DK and its a free corner to corner pattern which you can find here.

Since upgrading to Windows 10, all my photos have got mixed up. This is really bugging me and if you know how to get them to display in year order (from recent to older) please let me know. While looking for the shawl picture, I came across this little token thingy which I made ages ago. Its the perfect size for either a dollar coin or one of those tokens you put in the slot to release a shopping trolley. Video tutorial here. Very handy to have on your keychain.

My poor landscaper is just about tearing his hair out with the way this weather has been hindering progress on my front yard. We are a little further advanced so fingers crossed that next week might see a few sunny days.

Almost time for bed but I might do another 8 rows on my Hitchhiker which is growing ever so slowly !!

Have a good week.

  1. Sorry to hear you have been sick. I do hope you are about over it and the bug stays away. Very pretty blanket. I love c2c for blankets. Such a great texture, fast and easy to do. I hope the weather clears so more work can be done, I'm sure you want it over and done with it.

  2. That is going to be lovely when it's finished. It seems like whenever you start an outdoor project that the weather has to get bad. What's with that anyway? Love your little blanket and the little bag is so cute. Would be a great place to put a little change to keep on your child's coat zipper.

  4. Please feel better soon. Your C2C is lovely and will be greatly appreciated by the recipient. What a cute little coin purse and yet a very clever idea. Here's hoping the weather will improve for your landscapers too. It looks very nice so far.

  6. Your C2C turned out beautifully.. I've done several in the past and feel the urge to do another one. We're taking the boys out for their maiden voyage on the boat later today! I can relate to the repeated illnesses.. I do hope you get all better really soon. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Love your C2C, thats one thing I havent tried yet, I crochet blankets for a local charity that gives out welcome New Baby parcels to hard up families so I might try one for that.

  11. Your front yard is going to kick tail once it's done. I wish we had your wet and cold weather. Tell it to come to California! Hope you feel better soon. Bless you on hooking up that nice blanket for the charity.

  12. Hope you feel better soon Dorothy and I love your Angel blanket, it's gorgeous and I'm sure will be much loved. Your yard when it's finished will look fantastic, I hope the weather plays ball for you and the landscaper.

  13. Oh, so sorry you're not feeling well! It's awful to be sick. I hope you are on the mend really soon! I just finished a C2C not too long ago and really enjoyed it. I'm sure I'll make more. Your little baby blanket is so sweet and for charity...that's wonderful. I did charity preemie hats last year but I am trying to get packed up and sell my house so I skipped this year. Wow! Landscaping, I need that badly. I hope the weather clears up so you can get it done. Your little key ring is cute too. I can't wait to see your Hitchhiker. It's been on my list for awhile now. Get better, rest up and take good care of yourself!

  14. Sending you healing thoughts. I think that key ring thing is perfect for grocery shop tokens (which I never seem to have at the ready, or swimming pool locker tokens (which I also never have at the ready). Great idea.

  16. Hoping your feeling better by now, we had some kind of bug that lingered in our house for ever this year too.
I'd love to see your hitchhiker,a crochet version has been in my favorites forever. The heat has been hindering our yard work lately, I'm not sure which is worse, heat or wet..

  20. I am so sorry to hear you have been sick. I hope you get better soon and I also hope it stops raining. It has been raining so much here we are on flood watch. I am not worried too much but the people who live closer to the river are. I have been very achy though since the fibromyalgia flares up with the pressure changes. I would really like to see the rain stop but so far the forecast says it will continue. Anyway, I love your little blanket for charity. That is always a nice thing to do. I used to have a project linus chapter and still make blankets for the hospital and red cross.
