Thought it was time I popped in to let you know that I haven't dropped off the planet - also to take the opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy Easter.
I've been working on my baby blankets (yes, I too have multiple things on the go at the same time) but don't seem to be making very much progress. Perhaps I really ought to just stick to one thing at a time. To break the monotony, I dabble with quick things in between and have just finished a crochet dog coat for an animal rescue who have especially requested small coats.
Its very hard to photograph a dog coat without a dog inside it but our little Tasha is sound asleep and I don't like to disturb her for a modelling assignment. Besides, she needs a bath !! This was a very easy pattern from Bernatcares.com. I had some Red Heart Soft in my stash and used that with a 5.00mm hook. Because they're so quick to make, I might try another in our Australian 8ply and make the next size up. I think the one I made will fit a Chihuahua or a small Jack Russell.
Before I finish, have a look at this gorgeous hyacinth plant I've been enjoying this week. Love the fragrance.
I'm hopeless when it comes to gardening so I'm not sure how long I can expect the flowers to last and what I need to do when they die. I was told that because they're bulbs, I should get more flowers next year. I'm hoping one of you lovely people can give me a bit of advice on how to look after my little plant.
Hope the Easter Bunny brings you lots of lovely eggs.

Adorable little coat. I'll have to check that pattern out for Sparky -- he hates wearing clothing of any kind you know -- so it's torture when I make something for him. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI just plant our hyacinth bulbs out in the garden and they divide and come up every spring. So beautiful!
So true about photographing dog coats! I love the colors on your latest doggie creation. Happy Easter to you, too.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your dog coat! I should make one for Buddy. As for the hyacinth, when it's done, plant it outside and hope that it comes back next year. Happy Easter!
ReplyDelete((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Lovely dog coat Dorothy. I just remembered that I need to make a copy of the easy sewn dog coat for you. I offered to do that ages ago ...
ReplyDeleteLove the hyacinth!
