And now for the Show ... I was able to get some pics of the crochet and knitting exhibits at the Canberra Show which was held last Friday to Sunday. There are lots of different sections which explains why there are many awards. I'll just show you the pics without any comments other than something that my daughter pointed out to me in this first picture. Can you spot what she noticed? Leave a comment if you can. Show and Tell
First I'll tell you about my latest FO. That beautiful wool I received from Maria's blog give-away was just screaming 'scarf' and so I decided on a simple V stitch as the colours in the wool are the real feature of this scarf. It drapes well and I'm very happy with the result.

That last pic is a blanket knitted by the president of our branch of the CWA (Country Womens Association of NSW).

Well I checked out that first photo and with it covered with so many awards it is hard to tell if the block edged in the light yellow is part of the whole scheme of things or if it was a boo boo, and then I see what looks like a red(?) thread in the same block but then that could be part of the award ribbon. Am I seeing what you noticed?

I love seeing crochet things people have entered and that placed in shows and exhibits. It's my favorite thing to do at the Texas State Fair. I've always wanted to enter something or several somethings, but it's such a pain to go downtown where the fair is, I never seem to just do it. I guess it's on my bucket list of things to do before I die. Ha. I see a reddish-orange blot on that first blanket, but that's all I saw that was out of the ordinary. Is that it? Wonder why she wouldn't have fixed that right away when she was making it?
ReplyDeleteI saw the white edging and then a yellow edging, actually I was amazed that got a ribbon as I thought it was kind of mud ugly. :-) You should put something in!
ReplyDelete((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Yes different colour on the edging I think... Not as well crocheted as the other pics.. Beautiful colours and what talent to create a rug so different in swirls.. Congrats to the president of your group ... Well deserved :))
ReplyDeleteLove the scarf! The show looks amazing (too bad I'm so far away!).
