Crochet Claudia Scarf

I haven't felt much like crochet or knitting this past week thanks to a dreadful upper respiratory infection that made me feel absolutely miserable. Things are on the improve and I've picked up the hook again and would like to finish off my Claudia scarf that I'm making with the gorgeous yarn hand dyed by Lillian. Here's a progress pic - not much yarn left so it shouldn't take too long before I can tick one item off my Year of Projects list.

Winter has returned with a vengeance here in the Australian Capital Territory! It is currently 6 degrees celsius, dull, raining and windy.  OK, we're still 3 weeks away from the start of Spring but this is ridiculous. I wonder if its not too late to prune the roses? A couple of weeks ago, I had to go to a meeting which started at 10am .... look what greeted me ... solid ice on the windscreen and at 9.34am it was just 1 degree.

On that note, I'll say bye bye and thanks for visiting.

  1. I do like your Claudia scarf. Such a lovely color and the texture is great too. I have a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact you are in winter while my temp here is going to be 40C today. Stay warm and hope you feel better this week.

  2. I really like your scarf, I must look for that pattern and see if I could probably make my own. Hope you are feeling better and that spring will come soon - even though that means we'll be heading into autumn.

  4. Okay, that scarf pattern is going on my list for sure! It looks like a lovely pattern and that yarn is really gorgeous! Too bad we can't switch weather depending on our moods and activities! LOL! We're actually having a great Summer here in the South U.S. as it is cooler than usual and not as humid and more rain which I like because otherwise we have fire danger and I do not like that at all! I used to live in the North U.S. where we had exciting and blizzardy Winters which I miss especially now that I am retired and don't have to go out in it. The fact that you are going into Spring is a good sign for me because that means we are going into Fall! LOL! Stay safe if you have to go out and curl up with your crochet as you do such beautiful work! I can't wait to see what you do next!

  5. Cute saying - I have one that says "Eat a live toad the first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day!"
Spring will come soon - here we are in a smoke from fires burning 100s of miles from us. I hope you get time for more beautiful crocheting and that you feel better and better each day.

  10. I do hope you are feeling much better by now. The scarf is coming along nicely and is such a wonderful colour.
By the way, if you wanted an easy to follow first sock pattern I would use one by Susan b Anderson or the knitting expat, both have a vanilla sock pattern that is free, if you fancied it.
