My daughter and son-in-law have just spent a week in New Zealand celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary. While they were away I had one of those special days you have every year and part of my gift which I received on their return was 400g of this gorgeous Wanaka Station wool.
Needless to say I was thrilled and could hardly wait to get it wound into balls so I could start something. I wanted a scarf pattern that would show up the beauty of this wool, and after spending hours on Ravelry trying to find something I thought I'd like, I ended up deciding on a pattern I'd just started, using Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic wool. Here's a picture of how much I'd done before putting this one aside for the time being (by the way, the colour is purple, not grey as the iPad seems to think) ...
I'll probably have a ta-da in day or so as I've already done about 27 inches of the scarf using the New Zealand wool and I only started it this afternoon.
Back to the hook .....

Love that new yarn of yours Dorothy...a great birthday present! Also that is a really nice pattern that you've been working on too. I must admit that I bought a fair bit of yarn whilst on my recent holiday to NZ :-/ lol
